WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?
If you are having a face to face session, I will provide most of what you need. I do ask that you have a basic stationary set with a pen, pencil, ruler etc. I will provide all activities, and resources needed for the session. A quiet and comfortable learning environment is essential. I may request you purchase a folder or box file to store your work in. I also recommend a box file so the student can write notes and create a bank of revision notes.
DO YOU SET HOMEWORK?
I do not usually set homework unless specifically requested and only if I feel this will benefit my student. However there is an expectation that you look at notes that we have learnt together or revise spellings throughout the week in preparation for lessons. Any such activities are facilitated with the students needs in mind.
WHAT IF I CANT DO IT?
Please do not worry. The reason I am hear is to help and support you through your Education. If you are finding something too difficult then there are always different ways we can learn. I will always adapt the way I teach to support you. There is no judgment here. All I ask is that you try your best.
HOW DO YOU KNOW HOW I'M PROGRESSING?
In our first lesson, I will ask you to complete an assessment. THIS IS NOT A TEST. It is designed to help me see what you are good at and what you need support with. Its a positive tool and is nothing to worry about. We will also complete progress checks in the lesson to assess your understanding. I can then adjust the lesson as necessary. We will revise old topics throughout our time together to assess your retention of subjects we have covered.
